Senior Heat Pump Engineer

THE ROLE!

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heat Pump Engineer to join our fast growing renewable energy company in the UK. As a Senior Heat Pump Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, planning, and project oversight of our heat pump systems. Your expertise in this field will enable our company to provide high-quality heat pump solutions to residential and commercial clients and take advantage of the growing high quality reputation our company has garnered.

We are seeking an individual that can own the full scope of work and help develop the wider framework of engineering and support talent that is required to deliver the same national coverage that we offer with our other products and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation: Lead and perform heat pump installations, ensuring proper implementation of systems and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Planning and Design: Collaborate with project teams to develop effective heat pump designs and plans. Evaluate site requirements, analyse load calculations, and determine optimal system layouts.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the progress of heat pump projects, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints. Conduct regular site visits to monitor installation quality and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of popular heat pump brands, including their features and functionalities. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies to enhance our company’s competitiveness.
  • Accreditation and Commercial Value: Assist the company in obtaining relevant accreditations and certifications to establish credibility and increase commercial value. Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: As the company grows, lead and develop the engineering team by providing guidance, training, and mentorship. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with MCS, NAPIT and industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MCS accreditation
  • NAPIT certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the heat pump industry, with a proven track record of successful project management and installation.
  • Extensive knowledge of popular heat pump brands, their installation requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in heat pump sizing, system design, and load calculations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership qualities to guide and motivate a team, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and requirements in the heat pump industry.
  • Full UK driving licence.
